Weaving Grievances

These designs were created as part of a larger group project that I contributed to for GRDS402: Designing for Social Issues with Professor Mary Casem at SCAD. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this course and Professor Casem. Both have had a major impact on my life and I had such an amazing time working on this project alongside so many other talented designers. 

The visual elements and concepts of each design have been created with the purpose of emphasizing the social responsibility we all have. The overall goal is that people will take this knowledge and make the necessary changes within their own personal lives to ensure the survival of our planet before it is too late.

Climate Change Spread

Design for Social Issues

As graphic designers, we have the power to influence others and we should use this ability to address the various challenges we face as a society. The objective of this project is to make people aware of how individual choices impact our planet and each other as a whole.

The project culminates with a final group quilt and book of spreads made from all of our individual image cards and narratives regarding each topic of climate change and then compiled together to create one large piece of work. We invite you to join us in this endeavor and help make a difference.
